Jonathan Worsley, Chairman of Bench Events, is one of the founders and organisers of multiple leading international conferences for the hotel investment industry, including the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference in Dubai, now in its 14th year, The Summit in London, the Asia Hotel and Tourism Investment Conference and the Africa Hotel Investment Forum.
More recently, Jonathan and his team have entered the Latin America market partnering with SAHIC in Cuba and Buenos Aires and the inaugural Iran Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference in 2017.
Bench Events has also branched out into the related fields of aviation and F&B, with the respective launches of AviaDev Africa, inaugurated in 2016, and The Global Restaurant Investment Forum now in its fourth year.
In 1997, Jonathan was one of the founding members of the annual International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) in Berlin, a conference he subsequently organised for 19 years, which today attracts over 2,000 delegates. Earlier in his career, Jonathan worked for real estate consultants CBRE & Hotel Partners, hotel advisors PKF and hotel operator Forte & Holiday Inns.
Jonathan sits as a shareholder and board director of STR, a global benchmarking company with over 50,000 participating hotels following the merger of The Bench, STR and Deloitte’s Hotel Benchmark. He sits on the board of Hotel Swaps, which allows participating members to swap empty hotel rooms with other members around the globe and is an investor in TripTease, the tech start-up that enables hotels to increase direct sales and aims to defeat rate disparity.
Jonathan and his colleagues are actively involved raising money for the communities in which Bench Events works. They raised more than £200,000 for TUSK, Cancer Research and the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation by participating in the Kili Madness challenge and breaking the World Record for the highest game of cricket ever played on top of Kilimanjaro. In 2016, Jonathan cycled from Amsterdam to Berlin with nine others for the opening of IHIF and raised funds for the Anne Frank Trust and Future Talent, a feat he will tackle again in 2017.
Jonathan is a Trustee of Future Talent, a charity that provides financial support to gifted young musicians in need of financial assistance to pursue their dreams and talent.

In his past appointment as Vice President Asset Management of Dubai Investment Group, Beil’s responsibilities included the asset management of the international hotel and real estate asset portfolio of Dubai Holding, which incorporated but not limited to the Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts and other international real estate assets. Furthermore, he was mandated to seek investments, develop & grow markets in South America and cultivate business relationships between Middle East and LATAM.

Following a career in professional services spanning nearly 30 years, Nick is currently acting as senior adviser to several hospitality investors. Until recently he was a senior partner with Deloitte LLP and Global Head of Hospitality Advisory Services, based in London. In this role, he served a wide spectrum of clients across all six continents, including private family/HNWI’s; PE, SWF, institutional, RE; and corporates, and encompassing owners, investors, lenders and operators. The range of services provided included: commercial strategy and development advice; M&A/transaction services; operational/profit improvement reviews; capital-raising/IPOs; assurance; tax advice and restructuring.
Nick spent the early part of his career in hotel operations in Africa and Europe and has subsequently worked in over 70 countries and 250 markets. He is a sought-after speaker and was the organiser and chairman of the highly-regarded annual European Hotel Investment Conference in London (EHIC – which has been running for 29 years).
Nick served on the Board of global industry data provider STR from 2011 to 2017.

Previously, Jerome was overseeing the expansion of all Marriott International brands in the region with a particular focus on the United Arab Emirates and Oman. His extensive network and solid market reputation built over the last decade spent in the region have enabled Jerome to bring some of the company’s most iconic brands to the region, including Edition and Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, as well as expand the midscale and full service brands in underprovided submarkets.
Prior to joining Marriott International, Jerome has advised international clients in successfully conducting hotel transactions both in Europe and the Middle East, having been a senior member of the Capital Markets team of Jones Lang Lasalle in Dubai and previously in Paris.

Dimitris Manikis was appointed President and Managing Director for EMEA in April 2018. In his role, he is responsible for the development of all of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ brands in the EMEA region as well as maximising the performance of all new and existing franchise and managed hotels. He focuses on driving the strategic objectives of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts including quality and technology solutions as well as loyalty, sales and marketing.
Dimitris Manikis has a long-standing career and deep knowledge of the hospitality industry. Prior to joining Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, he spent over 27 years with RCI, the worldwide leader in vacation exchange, across a number of senior roles, and most recently served as Vice President of Business Development for EMEA. Earlier in his career, he also held a number key positions in the region as Managing Director of RCI Greece and RCI South Africa.
A Greek national, Dimitris was born in Athens and holds a Bachelor degree in Tourism and Administration from the University of Patras in Greece, and an MSc Postgraduate degree in Tourism Marketing from the University of Surrey. His passion for people and work ethic comes from his father, who built up a grocery retail business in Athens where Dimitris learned the value of high customer service, positive outlook and hard work as being the foundations of success in both business and life.

Aaron Greenman is Interstate Hotels & Resorts’ EVP of Acquisitions and Development for EMEA, responsible for growing the portfolio of managed hotels for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He joined Interstate in fall 2007 as Head of Development in India, in addition to his responsibilities as COO with the company’s JV partner. In 2010, Aaron was promoted to SVP of Acquisitions and Development for Europe. At the time, Interstate had 10 hotels throughout Europe and presence in several countries. During his tenure, Interstate has achieved significant growth in Europe, and today the company has over 100 properties, inclusive of signed pipeline, across the UK and Western Europe, Eastern Europe and Russia/CIS.
Previously, Aaron was MD for AFEX Group in Nairobi, Kenya with operations throughout East Africa, and earlier was a senior manager in Ernst and Young LLP’s real estate advisory services practice, based in Boston, New York and Miami. Jad joined Al Hokair Group from Millennium Hotels Middle East & Africa, where he was the Regional Director, new Hotels openings. To date in his career, Jad has led directly the opening and conversion of over 20 properties, ranging from upper luxury to midscale, over the Middle East, Turkey and Georgia.
In his current role, Jad oversees Al Hokair’s 40+ managed and franchised properties under different brands like IHG, Hilton, Marriott, Golden Tulip, Radisson and the home grown “MENA Hotels” brand that is spreading fast in the Kingdom , as well as the Hotels Division Corporate team and a total team of over 2800 employees.

Nicholas Naples brings three decades of experience in luxury hospitality to AMAALA Project. He has worked with some of the most successful names in the industry,including Ritz Carlton and Four Seasons, and has led a number of multi-billion-dollar greenfield integrated resort development projects. He has senior level experience in the development and operations of a number of five-star hotels and mixed-use integrated resorts, retail malls, sports facilities and residential properties.
Among the most notable positions he has held are roles as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Operations and Development for leading integrated resort companies in the USA, China and Vietnam. He completed 17 new projects and operated a portfolio of over 30 resort properties for Caesar’s Entertainment and was one of the first senior executives from the USA to take up a leadership development role in Macau, China, in 2006. There, his responsibilities included the development of a 6-million-square-foot movie-studio-themed casino resort and a 13.5-millionsquare- foot integrated resort project, as well as the operation of a 5-million-squarefoot luxury integrated resort property, all on the famed Cotai Strip in Macau.

Dr. Badr Al-Badr is a veteran business leader, serial entrepreneur, a published author, a blogger, and a social activist. The Chief Executive Officer of one of the oldest Saudi publicly listed companies, Dur Hospitality Company, a Saudi Joint Stock hospitality company established in 1976, recognized for its extensive record in managing, developing and operating a wide portfolio of hotels and residential compounds across the kingdom.
Prior to being with Dur, Dr. Badr held many leading positions in local and multinational companies, earning him numerous “Best Manager” awards during his career. He was the MD of Cisco Systems Saudi Arabia which, under his leadership, won the “Best Business Environment” Award twice in Saudi Arabia. He was also the CEO of AwalNet Company and CEO of Al Alamiah Internet and Communication Company.
Dr. Badr earned his masters and PHD from Washington University, USA and his B.A degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran. An entrepreneur and contributor to leading and developing emerging business, Dr. Badr actively participated in many leadership programs at several renowned universities including Oxford, Cornell, and George Washington University.

In 2002 he was a founding member of HTNG and today he is an Executive Advisor to HTNG.
