Over the last few years the Middle East has undergone severe economic and political upheavals. Through it all the hotel investment industry has adapted to survive. The external environment is constantly changing and the Middle East’s hotel investment community needs to find ways to stay on top. Innovation and re-invention are an integral part of this process as identified by our advisory board.
The AHIC Advisory Board brought together regional leaders to discuss the key topics and challenges to be addressed in 2012. Advisory Board members were each put into three different groups over the course of the afternoon to brainstorm topics. The overarching conclusion of the Board was that although the future remains uncertain, the industry is now poised to seize the opportunities presented by a somewhat more stable regional economic and political environment. However, with such dynamic and challenging conditions, in order to move forward the industry must adapt and do so in a consolidated manner.
This brings us to the theme for AHIC 2012; ‘Innovation through Collaboration’; the 2012 programme will explore how growth and re-invention can be born through working together. Owners and operators; Public and Private Partnerships; the industry as a whole working to enhance a destination’s appeal to the travel market: we will look at how to grow, innovate and improve your business not only through your own work but through relationships with others.
