Salim Bitar, CEO of Rani Investment, leads the Hospitality and Real Estate practice at Aujan Group Holding. The Group owns properties in the Middle East and Africa under the Radisson Blu, Oberoi, Anantara and Avani brands. Since 2011 he has led the transformation of the Group’s hospitality business to emphasize investments in business tourism in addition to forming strategic partnerships resulting in equity participation, rebranding and expansion. Most recently, Bitar concluded the development of a mixed-use project in Maputo, Mozambique, as part of a joint venture where Minor International acquired a 49% share.
Prior to joining the Aujan Group in 2011, Bitar spent 21 years in the Telecom Sector working for Motorola where he held senior finance and operational roles in the United States, Asia, and the Middle East & Africa. After leaving Motorola, he joined Dubai Holding where he held senior roles leading the F&B business, and later the restructuring and development of a $2 Billion residential district in Dubai.
Having developed a passion for conservation and responsible tourism since moving to the region, Bitar is committed to highlight the Group’s two-decade' efforts in this area, and to intensify the business’s focus on sustainable development and preservation of the environment.
